Full-Charge Bookkeeper

We are accepting applications for a full charge bookkeeper to join our corporate office conveniently located near Exit 8 of the New Jersey Turnpike. This is a fast paced, full-time position that offers great opportunity for personal and professional development. Duties of the Full Charge Bookkeeper will include the following:

  • Record transactions to general ledger accounts by analyzing invoices; recording entries.
  • Schedule and prepare checks to pay vendors.
  • Monitor discount opportunities, verify federal id numbers for vendors, review invoices against contracts for discrepancies, ensure credit is received for outstanding returns, rebates, discounts etc.
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling statements and related transactions.
  • Record sales and use taxes by calculating requirements on invoices.
  • Audit and reconcile various hotel accounting reports; maintain supporting spreadsheets for recording revenue and taxes.
  • Maintain and enforce Policies and Procedures for internal control compliance.
  • Control and maintain the Accounts Payable filing system.
  • Prepare and file 1099 Forms.
  • Prepare Journal Entries, including Prepaid and Accrued Expenses.
  • Perform various ad hoc tasks as assigned by members of the management staff.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills and traits:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (required).
  • Experience working within the hospitality industry and with multiple companies (strong plus).
  • Experience with MAS500, Sage 500 ERP or similar computerizing accounting software (strong plus).
  • Fundamental understanding of General Principals of Accounting.
  • Must be punctual, responsible, dependable and reliable.
  • Ability to effortlessly switch gears at a moment’s notice and wear many hats.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a high paced, dynamic environment.

Assistant General Manager

Hotels Unlimited operates mid-level franchised hotels and has great career opportunities for individuals who are highly motivated, have a take-charge attitude, and good communication skills.  We are currently seeking bench candidates for the position of Assistant General Managers to lead our exceptional staff at various central New Jersey limited service hotels or full-service hotels and banquet facilities.

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for supporting the General Manager in all aspects of hotel operations. You assist the General Manager with their responsibilities and everyday tasks. Assist in overseeing and supervising the operations of all departments, including Food and Beverage (F&B), and has knowledge of those responsibilities; also assisting in these departments as needed. The Assistant General Manager and the General Manager work closely with the hotel and Corporate staff to achieve desired revenue, exceed guest satisfaction, and maintain a high level of service. As the Assistant General Manager, you should have a strong knowledge of the brand you represent, the hotel, and the management company, Hotels Unlimited.
