Tinton Falls Holiday Inn to become Doubletree

Tinton Falls, New Jersey (September 22, 2010) – The owner of the Holiday Inn in Tinton Falls is switching the longtime hotel’s brand to Doubletree in October.

The Holiday Inn was sold in 2007 to Hotels Unlimited, an East Windsor company that now owns seven hotels in Monmouth and Ocean counties. The 179-room hotel underwent major renovations, including new rooms, common areas and ballrooms, said Julia Coppock, marketing manager at Hotels Unlimited.

A decision was made to rebrand the hotel to Doubletree Hotel of Tinton Falls as of Oct. 1, she said. Doubletree is a Hilton brand.

Meanwhile an affiliate of Hotels Unlimited recently opened a new 95-room hotel, Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites, on Route 66 in Neptune. It sits on land that was once the location of the Forrest View assisted-living facility.

The Holiday Inn on Hope Road, which has 71 employees, has been a Holiday Inn since 1991 and previously was a Hilton hotel before the franchise was withdrawn.

The Doubletree Hotel of Tinton Falls will be the only Hilton brand in Monmouth County, she said.

“We are joining a Hilton-family brand hotel and undergoing some more improvements”, she added. “Guests also will be able to take advantage of the Hilton Honors loyalty program”, Coppock said.

The company chose Doubletree based on the success of its Hilton Gardens Inn in Lakewood, Coppock said. Hotels Unlimited also owns a Doubletree in West Palm Beach, Fla.

“We have great experience with Doubletree,” she said.

The switchover also will come with a new look for the lobby, restaurant and gift shop.
